First Hajj flight departs

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal and Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman exchanged greetings with the Hajj pilgrims - BSS
The first Hajj flight of this year departed for Saudi Arabia with 419 pilgrims aboard on Saturday morning.
A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport for Jeddah around 7:55am.
At that time, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal and Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman were present at the airport.
The two ministers exchanged greetings with the Hajj pilgrims and inaugurated the first Hajj flight amid a Munajat (Prayer).
The Hajj flight will be continued till 15 August and the return flight will be started from 27 August and ended on 25 September.
As per the agreement with the Saudi government, a total of 1,27,198 Bangladeshi nationals will be allowed to make the pilgrimage this year.
Bangladesh Biman will carry 64,500 pilgrims while Saudi Airlines will carry the rest of the pilgrims.
