Verdict on 5 Patuakhali ‘war criminals’ Monday

The verdict on five alleged war criminals of Patuakhali, including Ishaq Sikder, will be delivered on Monday.  

A three-member bench of the International Crimes Tribunal, led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, set the date for announcing verdict on Sunday.  

On May 30, the tribunal kept the case CAV [Curia Advisari Vult, a Latin ... be delivered anytime] after concluding hearing the closing arguments. 

The four other suspects are: Abdul Gani Haolader, Abdul Awal alias Moulabi Aowal, Abdus Sattar Peyda and Solayman Mridha.

The five were accused of killing 17 people, committing 15 rapes, vandalism, arson, abduction and torture in the Itabaria village area of Patuakhali during the country's Liberation War in 1971.
