One killed, 6 hurt in city gas cylinder blast

A child was killed and six people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Dhalpur in capital's Jatrabari area on Friday.

The name of the deceased could not be known while the injured are Suman, 40, his wife Sajuli, 35, son Nishan, 14, paternal-aunt Ator Begum, 70, Alamgir, 30, and his wife Kajoli. 24.    

The gas cylinder went off in a house with a big bang, leaving the child dead on the spot and six others injured around 7:00am, said sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp.

Later they were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:30am.
