I have no political identity: Allama Shafi

Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh Chairman Allama Ahmad Shafi has said that he has no political identity. 

He came up with the remark at ‘Shukrana Mahfil’ (thanks giving rally) held at the Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on Sunday.  

"I have no political identity as well as the Hefajat-e Islam also has no links with any political parties," said   Allama Shafi. 

The mahfil is held under the banner of Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh hailing the government for giving the Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) of Qawmi Madrasas the status of master’s degree. 

On September 19, a bill titled ‘Dawra-e-Hadith (Taqmil) from Qawmi Madrasas as equivalent to certificate of master’s degree (Islamic Studies and Arabic) under Al Haiatul Ulaya Lil-Jamiatul Kawmiya Bangladesh’ 2018 was passed in parliament.
