Canteen boy chopped to death inside launch

An owner of a canteen at MV Kirtankhola-2 has allegedly killed his employee at Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the capital.

The incident took place inside the launch at around 10:45 am on Friday at a No 1 pontoon at Sadarghat.

Quoting the staff of the launch, Sadarghat Police Outpost SI Enamul Haque said that Yameen, the owner of the canteen, chopped Rubel, 25, to death and then he left the spot through the back door of the launch. 

An investigation into the murder and drive to arrest the canteen owner is underway, said the police official.

The MV Kirthankhola-2 launch left Barisal on Thursday night and reached Sadarghat on Friday morning.
