Nusrat murder verdict: Accused placed before court

The verdict in Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case will be delivered on Thursday.

Three-layer security force has been set up in the court area since the morning. The 16 accused have been taken to the court from Feni District Jail.

The District Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal set the date on 23 September after concluding hearing of arguments.

Nusrat was set on fire on 6 April on the roof of a madrasa she attended, allegedly by people loyal to the principal who had been accused of sexually harassing her.

She succumbed to her injuries four days later at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

A case was filed at Sonagazi police station on 8 April. Police submitted chargesheet against 16 people in the case.
