Jubo League Chairman Omar Faroque's bank accounts' info sought

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has asked the concerned authorities of different banks to provide details information about the bank statements of Jubo League Chairman Mohammad Omar Faroque Chowdhury.

The BFIU has issued letters to different commercial banks on Thursday asking them seeking information about Omar Faroque's bank statements within three working days.

The BB has come with the move amid the ongoing crackdown on illegal casino business, gambling and corruption by law enforcers.

Meanwhile, the BFIU and National Board of Revenue have asked to inquire about the bank accounts of top brasses of Jubo League, youth front of ruling Awami League.

The Financial Intelligence Unit usually works to search for various sources of illegal money, including illegal transactions, money laundering.

The BFIU will collect all information from all banks and send it with reviews to the concerned intelligence agencies.
