Ministry of Shipping opens control room

The Ministry of Shipping has opened a 'control room' for disseminating information and maintaining overall communications in the face of severe cyclone 'Bulbul'.

A temporary control room has been opened at Room No. 801 (Ka) at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Saturday, said a press release of the Ministry of Shipping.

The joint secretary of the ministry, Monoj Kanti Baral, will be in charge of the control room, it said.

The release also stated that the weekly and public holidays of all officials and employees of the Ministry of Shipping and its all departmental offices were cancelled in order to take all necessary measures to face the severe cyclonic storm 'Bulbul'.
