No case under new transport law for 7 days: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the process of implementing the Road Transport Act has been started from November 1.

The Road Transport Act came into effect following the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to bring discipline on the roads and highways. 

The campaign on the new act will continue for the next seven days and the concerned all have been advised not to file a case against any transport during this period.

Quader, also Awami League general secretary, came up with the instruction while talking to reporters at the signboard area of Narayanganj on Saturday afternoon to observe the activities of the BRTA mobile court in implementing the new law.

At the time the minister expressed hope that if the Road Transport Act 2018 is fully implemented, accidents in the country would be greatly reduced and discipline would be restored on the roads and highways.
