Holey Artisan Café attack case verdict on Nov 27

A tribunal has set November 27 for delivering its verdict in the sensational case over Holey Artisan café attack.

Judge of the Dhaka Anti-terrorism Special Tribunal Mohammad Mujibur Rahman fixed the date on Sunday after concluding the law-point argument of the defence counsel.

Police pressed charges against eight alleged militants in the case on July 23, 2018.

All the eight accused are now in jail. They are Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, Mahmudul Hasan Mizan, Sohel Mahfuz, Rashidul Islam alias Ryash, Boro Mizan and Hadisur Rahman Sagor, Mamunur Rashid Ripon and Shariful Islam Khaled.

Twenty-one people were identified to be behind the attack. Among them, 13 were killed in gunfights at different times.

Attack on Holey Artisan café on July 1, 2016 claimed the lives of 20 people, including 17 of foreign nationals.

Two more police officers were also killed outside the cafe while fighting with the militants.
