BRTA lodges 88 cases under new law

A total of 88 cases were filed under Road Transport Act-2018 in Dhaka city on Monday. 

Eight mobile courts of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority conducted their operation at different places in the city on the first day.

The mobile courts also fined Tk 1.21 lakh for violating the new act.

AKM Masudur Rahman, director (enforcement) of BRTA, said that the new law came into effect on Sunday.

The BRTA started operation of its mobile court at Manik Mia Avenue, Uttara, Banani, Mirpur, Motijheel, Jatrabari and different places in the capital to implement the law, he added.
