Khaleda's bail hearing on Thursday

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has fixed next Thursday to hear on the bail plea filed by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia who is convicted in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.

The High Court bench of four judges headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain fixed the date on Monday.

Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Zainul Abedin were in favour of Khaleda Zia in the court while Khurshid Alam Khan stood for the Anti Corruption Commission.

Khaleda's lawyer Zainul Abedin later confirmed the matter to journalists.

On October 29 last year, a special court in Dhaka sentenced BNP chief to seven years' imprisonment in the graft case.
