'Police source' beaten to death in Khilgaon, 3 arrested

Murad, 30, a police informant, has been beaten to death in Khilgaon area of the capital. 

He died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). 

Police have so far arrested three persons in the incident, said Khilgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moshiur Rahman.

He added that Aziz, Milton, Mintu, Sohail along with others called in Murad around 11:30 pm out of his home and took him to a under construction building at Ice Cream lane of Sipahibagh and beat him mercilessly. 

Murad then returned home after being injured. But his condition deteriorated around 5am on Tuesday and he was rushed to Mugda Hospital. Later, he was shifted to DMCH where doctors declared him dead.

"On information, police raided in the area and arrested Mintu, Sohel and Milon in this connection. They are also accused of being involved in drug smuggling," said OC Moshiur.

Police are conducting operations to arrest others involved in the incident, he continued.
