Boro Mizan acquitted from Holey Artisan case

Mizanur Rahman alias Boro Mizan has been acquitted from the Holey Artisan Bakery attack case as allegations brought against him could not be proved.

Judge Md Majibur Rahman of the Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal of Dhaka has sentenced the rest seven accused to death in the case filed over the horrific militant attack on the Holey Artisan Bakery at Gulshan in the capital that left 22 people dead.

Mizanur Rahman, a fisherman by profession, used to live in Hazarbighi Chanpur in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj. On November 2, 2016, he was arrested from Darussalam area of Dhaka.

He was made accused in the case due to his name's similarity.

The seven death-row-convicts are – Jahangir Hossain alias Rajib Gandhi, Rakibul Hasan Regan, Rashedul Islam alias Aslam Hossain alias Rash, Abdus Sabur Khan alias Sohel Mahfuz, Hadisur Rahman Sagar, Shariful Islam and Mamunur Rashid.
