'Razakars' list to be discarded if so many errors found'

Expressing regret over the names of many freedom fighters on the list of razakars published on Sunday, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said the list will be withdrawn if there are so many errors are found in the list. 

He also said that if very few errors are found, the names of the enlisted freedom fighters will be withdrawn from the list.

He was speaking at a function in the Music and Dance Arts Auditorium of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday. 

The program was organized on the occasion of unveiling the cover of a book entitled ' Muktijuddho and Ami' by freedom fighter and retired police superintendent Nurul Islam Khan.

The book was dedicated to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on the occasion of his birth centenary. 

The minister said, "We cannot avoid responsibility for the mistakes of this list. If we find any complaint about any mistake, it will be withdrawn after verification. In the future, the list will be published after scrutinizing."

On the eve of the Victory Day, Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque published a list of 10,789 razakars who opposed the 1971 Liberation War.
