Police trying to recover CCTV footage over attack on VP Nur: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam said police are trying to recover CCTV footage of the attack on VP Nurul Haque Nur, his associates and vandalism of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Building.

He said this while answering a question to reporters after visiting Banani's Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday morning.

DMP Commissioner said action will be taken if evidence is found against the accused in VP Nur's case. An investigation into the incident is underway.

On Sunday, Muktijuddho and Dhaka University Chhatra League activists allegedly attacked VP Nur and his followers around 12:45 pm at his office. The computers, chairs and furniture of the VP's room were vandalized during the attack.

At least 24 people of Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council (BGSRPC), including Nur, were injured in the incident. 

Members of Muktijuddha Mancha threw Suhel off the roof of DUCSU building at Dhaka University during the attack.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
