DAP fertiliser price reduced by Tk 9 per kg

Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzaque said the price of one kilogram of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) has been reduced by Tk 9.

He said the price of DAP fertilizer has been reduced from Tk 25 to Tk 16 per kg for farmers.

The minister made the disclosure at a press briefing at the Secretariat on Wednesday. 

“The price has been reduced to Tk 14 from Tk 23 per kg for dealers,” he also said.

The new prices will come into effect very soon, Razzque said.

He said the government will have to provide an additional subsidy of TK 800 crore, along with the regular subsidy of TK 7,000 crore, for reducing the price. 

A proposal in this regard was placed before the Prime Minister and later it was approved by the government.
