Such a chaos in court unprecedented: AG

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam has expressed resentment over the chaos in the Supreme Court made by the pro-BNP lawyers during a bail hearing on the appeal filed by the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

"We have not seen such chaos in court in our time," he told reporters after the hearing on Thursday.

Mahbubey Alam said the court had earlier directed the medical board to submit a report by December 5, seeking information on Khaleda's physical condition. On the day, the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) said that some tests on Khaleda Zia's health were done and some more were left. It will take a week to report them. The court then ordered BSMMU to submit the report by December 11 and fixed December 12 for the next order. Immediately after that, the pro-BNP- lawyers created chaos in the court. 

He said, "The pro-BNP lawyers made the same noise that was generally created in public meetings. The court has been forced to stop its activities for their chaos. They did not let the court function properly. This is very nasty."

"We are strongly protesting the incident. In this regard, I will appeal to the Chief Justice to take exemplary action against them," the attorney general continued.
