All elections will be fair: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said that all the upcoming elections, including the two city corporations of Dhaka, Chittagong-8 constituency, will be free, fair and acceptable to all.

He came up with the vow after a meeting with election officials of Chittagong Regional Election Office on Wednesday afternoon. 

Chittagong Regional Election Officer Muhammad Hasanuzzaman, District Election Officer Md Munir Hossain Khan, district and divisional election officials were present in the meet.

Huda said, “All the elections will be competitive with the participation of all political parties. There is no apprehension of rigging in the elections."

Chittagong -8 (Boalkhali-Chandgaon) seat fell vacant following the death of lawmaker Mayeen Uddin Khan Badal.

The polls to Chittagong-8 constituency will be held on January 13 while the Dhaka North and South City Corporation elections will be held on January 30.
