ASP among 5 policemen injured in JCD attack

Five members of the police, including Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), were injured in the attack made by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders and activists who came to attend the anniversary rally of the student wing of BNP in Bogra.

The attack took place on Wednesday noon inside the Shaheed Khokon Park on the circuit house road.

At least 11 people were injured as local leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student body of BNP, clashed with police in Bogura town this noon.

The injured policemen are Sanatan Chakraborty, ASI Ashraful, Constables Mamun, Shifat and Parvez.

Of the injured, Parvez who received head injury, was admitted to Bogra Mohammad Ali Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have arrested 11 JCD activists for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Several hundred leaders and activists of BNP’s different units gathered at Khokon Park in the town on Wednesday morning for a rally, marking the 41st founding anniversary of JCD.

ASP Sonataon Chakraborty said police intercepted some JCD men, who went to the Shaheed Minar alter in the park with their shoes. Then they attacked the law enforcers around 12:00 pm that triggered the clash.
