Huge money, arms, bullets recovered from Papia's residence

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) - 1 has conducted a drive at the residence of arrested general secretary of Narsingdi District Jubo Mohila League, Shamima Noor Papia, at Farmgate in the city.

Foreign-made weapons, magazines, bullets, foreign liquor and large amounts of illegal money were seized during the raid on Sunday.

RAB spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Sarwar-bin-Kashem confirmed the matter to The Daily Samakal.

Earlier on Saturday morning, RAB arrested Papia along with her three associates from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka while trying to leave the country.

After Papia was arrested, RAB, at a press conference on Saturday night at its Media Center in Karwan Bazar in the capital, said the source of income of Papia is car selling and servicing. 

However, she was mainly involved in illegal arms and drug trade, said the RAB.
