ICC launches probe into torture on Rohingyas

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has launched an investigation into the crimes committed against the Rohingya in Myanmar. 

The court will try to identify the perpetrators of crimes committed against the Rohingya in the country, said 

Phakiso Mochochoko, Director of Jurisdiction, Cooperation and Complementarity of ICC, said this at a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Tuesday.

He said that right now, everything is not being released in the interest of the investigation. But at the individual level, the work is underway to identify the culprits involved in the crime against Rohingyas.

He also said that the work of collecting information has begun. The crimes committed against the Rohingya will be justified in the court and the people involved in the crime will be identified. The records of these crimes are being collected.
