The government has urged all people, living in the government announced red zones irrespective of religions, to say their prayers or offer their rituals at respective homes in the wake novel coronavirus outbreak.

The Religious Affairs Ministry issued a notice containing five-point directives for the people in red zones (highly vulnerable areas to Covid-19) and gave directives to all Muslim devotees except khatibs, imams, muajjins and khadems to say prayers at homes and say Zohr prayers at homes instead of offering Jummah in jamaat (congregation), reports BSS.

To keep continued prayers at mosques in jamaat in the red zones, not more than five persons including khatib, imam and muajjin can offer prayers at mosques for five times and not more than 10 persons can join jummah prayers by maintaining health guidelines and social distancing, the notice said.

Members of other communities have also been asked to perform their respective rituals at homes avoiding assemblage at prayer houses, it said.

Waz mahfil, tafsir mahfil, tablig talim or milad mahfil will not be allowed, it added.

Religious Affairs Ministry issued the notice in light with the decision taken in a meeting chaired by health and family welfare minister on Friday.
