Senior journalist AKM Rashid Un Nabi passes away

Prominent journalist AKM Rashid Un Nabi Babu has passed away. He was 74.

He breathed his last at 8:35 pm on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at BRB Hospital in Panthapath, said Rashid’s daughter Farah Anika Ananya.

Rashid is survived by his wife, daughter and host of relatives, well-wishers.

He was well known to journalists as Babu. Rashid was a senior member of the National Press Club and the Dhaka Union of Journalists. 

He carried out his duty as the joint editor at The Daily Samakal. 

Daily Samakal's acting editor Mustafiz Shafi has expressed deep grief over his death. 

Shafi said, “The Samakal family is deeply saddened by the death of this senior journalist. We extend our deepest condolences to his bereaved family."

In his 45 years of journalism career, Babu held vital posts at Dainik Bangla, Banglar Bani, Desh Bangla, Ajker Kagoj, Ittefaq, Samakal, Amar Desh, Jugantar, NTV, Channel One, Inquilab and Saptahik Purnima. 

Babu was the editor of The Daily Sakaler Khobor. He was also the editor of the upcoming newspaper Dainik Amar Din.
