37 die, 2,949 infected in 24 hours

Thirty-seven people have died from coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours in Bangladesh.

Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said while briefing on online on Friday.

The death toll now stands at 2,275.

Meanwhile, two thousand nine hundred and forty-nine people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the same period, taking the total number of infections in the country to 1,78,443.

A total of 13,488 samples were tested in 77 labs across the country, she added.

Some 1,862 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the virus infection in the last 24 hours, reaching the total number of recoveries to 86,406 with recovery rate 48.42 percent.
