Sinha murder: Pradeep, Liaqat among seven put remand again

A Cox's Bazar court has placed seven police personnel, including three prime accused, on four-day remand each in a case filed over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Senior Judge Tamanna Farah of the Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila Court-4 passed the order on Monday.

On completion of their seven-day remand, IO Khairul Islam, also senior assistant superintendent of police at RAB produced them before the court seeking seven-day remand each.

The seven accused are: former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das, former inspector and in-charge of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre Liaqat Ali, former sub-inspector Nandadulal Rakshit, assistant sub-inspector Liton Mia, and constables -- Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, and Abdullah Al Mamun.

Retired Army Major Sinha Md Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at Shamlapur check post on the night of July 31.
