Coronavirus mutates its genome fast in Bangladesh

The novel coronavirus mutates or undergoes fast changes in its genome in Bangladesh, according to the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR).

A team of researchers from BCSIR's Genomic Research Laboratory presented the observations on coronavirus at a press conference on Sunday.

According to the BCSIR, the mutation rate of coronavirus genome in the world is 7.23 percent, while the mutation rate of this virus in Bangladesh is 12.60 percent.
