3 sentenced to death for raping physician in Rajbari

Three people have been sentenced to death in a case of gang-rape of a young physician in Rajbari.

Judge Sharmin Nigar of the Rajbari Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal pronounced the verdict on Wednesday.

The convicts are Rana Mollah, son of late Abul Mollah of Majlispur village in Rajbari Sadar upazila, Mamun Mollah, son of Arshad Mollah of Khankhanapur village and Hannan Sardar, son of late Monnaf Sardar.

In addition to the death penalty, each accused has been fined one lakh taka. 

Advocate Uma Sen conducted the case on behalf of the state.
