VP Nur arrested in rape case

Police have arrested Nurul Haque Nur, former vice-president (VP) of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU), in a rape case.

DMP's Ramna division deputy commissioner Sazzadur Rahman confirmed that Nur was arrested during a protest in Shahbagh area in the city on Monday night.

Earlier on the day, a female student of Dhaka University filed a case with the Lalbagh Police Station accusing six people, including VP Nurul Haque Nur, of rape her.

Others accused are Hasan Al Mamun, Nazmul Hasan, Md Saiful Islam, Nazmul Huda and Abdullah Hill Baki.
