Haji Selim's son arrested

Irfan Selim, a councilor of Dhaka South City Corporation's 30th ward, son of MP Haji Selim, has been arrested in a case of allegedly beating a naval officer in Dhanmondi area of the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Sazzadur Rahman confirmed the information to the media.

Earlier, Navy officer Wasif Ahmed Khan filed a case against six people, including Haji Selim's son, with Dhanmondi Police Station around 7:45am on Monday. Earlier, the driver of the vehicle Mizanur Rahman was arrested in the case.

Haji Selim's son and Mizanur Rahman and four others have been named in the case. The other two are Protocol Officer AB Siddique Dipu and Mohammad Zahid. Two more unidentified persons have also been charged.
