Arms, foreign liquor recovered from Irfan Selim's house

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has recovered an illegal weapon, ammunition, foreign liquor, beer, walkie-talkie and electronic device from the house of Irfan Selim, son of Dhaka-7 MP Haji Selim and councilor of Dhaka South City Corporation's 30th ward.

The operation was carried out on Monday under the leadership of RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam. Irfan Selim lives on the third and fourth floors of the nine-storey building in white colour.

In the evening, RAB Law and Media Spokesman Lt. Colonel Ashiq Billah told The Daily Samakal that a foreign pistol, ammunition, an air gun, 37 walkie-talkies, a handcuff and foreign liquor and beer were found there.

On Sunday night, Wasif Ahmed Khan, a naval officer, was beaten by a group of men after getting out of a government vehicle, carrying sticker of 'Member of Parliament', owned by MP Haji Selim. A general diary was lodged in the incident at night and later Wasif filed a case against seven people, including Haji Selim's son, on the morning of October 26 on charges of beating and attempted murder. 

Besides, the other accused in the case are AB Siddique Dipu, Zahid, Mizanur Rahman and two to three others.
