Jail term if necessary for unmasked

The government is getting tougher to handle coronavirus pandemic. New instructions are coming to make sure everyone uses a mask. Failure to wear the mask will result in a large fine. This will be seen in seven to 10 days. If that doesn't work, jail term may be enforced.

This was stated by Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam on Monday. The cabinet secretary said this at a press conference after the cabinet meeting at the secretariat.

At the end of the last cabinet meeting, he said, the use of masks would be seen in a week. Then the fine will be increased. That is what the government is going to do now. The cabinet secretary said more fines would be imposed from now on. Even if it doesn't work, strict action will be taken.

Regular mobile courts are being conducted across the country to raise awareness on the use of masks to prevent coronavirus infections.
