One to die, 5 get life terms for killing schoolboy Ayaz

One person has been sentenced to death and five others to life imprisonment in the murder case of schoolboy Ayaz Haque.

Judge Iqbal Hossain of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-5 pronounced the verdict on Thursday.

Inzamamun Islam alias Jisan has been sentenced to death for killing Ayaz, a 16-year-old student of Government Laboratory School in the capital. The convicts who are sentenced to life imprisonment include Touhidul Islam, Mashiur Rahman Araf, Touhidul Islam Shuvo, Abu Saleh Mohammad Nasim and Arif Hossain Reagan.

Inzamamul Islam alias Jisan and Touhidul Islam were present in the court when the verdict was announced. The other accused are absconding.

On June 9, 2014, Ayaz was injured near the passenger shade of Jigatala under Dhanmondi Police Station due to the conflict of the friendly football tournament at City College. He was later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
