Vaccine will arrive in early Jan: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has expressed hope that the first shipment of coronavirus vaccine will arrive in Bangladesh in early January next year. 

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the measles-rubella vaccination program at the BCPS building in the capital on Thursday.

The health minister added, "We hope to get the coronavirus vaccine made from Oxford's AstraZeneca vaccine through the Serum Institute of India in the first week of next month. The government is bringing 30 million doses of vaccine directly.”

Director General of the Derectorate General of Health Services, Prof Abul Bashar Mohammad Khurshid Alam presided over the function.
