NOAB delegation calls on info minister

 A delegation of the Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) today paid a call on Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud at the ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat here on Wednesday afternoon.

NOAB President AK Azad, Vice-President ASM Shahidullah Khan, executive members Mahfuz Anam, Naim Nizam and Dewan Hanif Mahmud and member Shah Hossain Imam joined the meeting, said a press release.

During the meeting, they discussed about different aspects of the newspapers industry in overcoming the coronavirus situation, the release added.

NOAB leaders sought the information minister’s suggestion over realizing the due payment of advertisement from different government and non-government institutions.

Dr Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, said the Cabinet Division has already issued letters to all ministries and departments over paying the due for the advertisement.

The minister also assured the NOAB leaders of issuing letters from the Information Ministry in this regard.

They also discussed about the quality and number of newspapers across the country and the various aspects for making the media industry sustainable.
