300 vaccination centres to be set up in city: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that 300 coronavirus vaccination centres will be set up in the capital.

He gave this information at the 'Meet the Reporters' program organized by Dhaka Reporters' Unity on Monday.

The health minister said he hoped the first batch of vaccines would arrive from India by January 25-26. 

He said 300 vaccination centres would be set up at government hospitals and diagnostic centers in the capital and vaccination will be given from here.

He said the government wants to successfully implement the vaccination program, as per the policy of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Those working at risk will be vaccinated first and adults will be given priority there while those under the age of 18 will not be vaccinated, the health minister said.

Mentioning that all the journalists in the country will be vaccinated in time, Zahid Maleque said that the ICT department has created an app to give the vaccine properly. People will be given free vaccines by registering there.
