Drug Admin gives approval for mass vaccination

The Directorate General of Drug Administration has approved the vaccination of the mass people with Oxford-AstraZeneca doses purchased from the Serum Institute of India, said Major General Mahbubur Rahman, director general of DGDA.

On Tuesday, he said samples from every vaccine lot have been thoroughly examined. Vaccination drives will begin on Wednesday using these doses.

The vaccine shots arrived Dhaka on Thursday by an Air India plane. Then  those were kept to Beximco Pharmaceuticals’ warehouse in Tongi. Later, vaccines samples were sent to DGDA’s drug laboratories  for testing.
