Initiated programmes to turn the youth into skilled manpower: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the government has taken up many programmes to turn the country's youth into skilled manpower.

"Today's youths can advance the country. We need all sorts of skilled manpower and that skilled manpower will be the youth. We believe that youth is the power," she said on Wednesday, reports UNB.

The prime minister said this while addressing a discussion meeting organised on the occasion of 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League. The programme was held at Krishibid Institution, Bangladesh where the prime minister joined virtually from her official residence Gono Bhaban.

She put emphasis on ensuring the young generation stays away from corruption, drugs and anti-social activities.
