4 Bangladeshis shot in Canada

Four Bangladeshi Canadians have been shot by gunmen in the Regent Park area of Toronto, Canada. The condition of one of them is critical, police said.

The shootings took place in the area adjacent to Regent's Park Boulevard and Dandas Street around 11:45 pm local time on Tuesday.

Toronto police said police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of random shootings. A Honda Accord with numerous bullet marks was recovered from there. Three people were rescued and sent to hospital.

Debabrata Dev Tamal, president of the Jalalabad Association, wrote in a Facebook post that Anai Mia, vice-president of the Golapganj Foundation, Mumin Mia of Marhaba Grocery, Sultan Mia and Sattar Mia were injured in the shooting. Of the four, Anai Mia's condition is critical. The other three are safe.
