Hasina-Modi meeting inks five MoUs

Bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ended at the Prime Minister's Office in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.

Five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to enhance cooperation in various fields between the two neighbouring countries.

The MoUs include cooperation in disaster management, removal of non-tariff barriers to trade and commerce, exchange of cooperation between the two countries' national cadet corps, information-communication and implementation of playground in Rajshahi.

Narendra Modi earlier reached the PMO at 5 pm to be received with e bouquet by his counterpart at her office’s Tiger Gate while the talks ended at around 6.20.

The Indian premier arrived in Dhaka on Friday morning on a two-day state visit in his first overseas visit to join Bangladesh’s Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary And golden Jubilee of the country’s 1971 Independence.

The Indian premier is scheduled to leave for home this evening.
