Hefazat leader Azizul Haque Islamabadi remanded

Hefazat-e-Islam's central organising secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi has been remanded for seven days.

After his arrest on Sunday evening, the police produced him before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Monday and sought 10-day remand. 

Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari granted a 7-day remand for grilling Azizul Haque, Asaduzzaman Ripon, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, told The Daily Samakal. 

In 2013, five cases were filed against Azizul Haque for allegedly setting fire to transports at Motijheel's Shapla Chattar in the city by the members of Hefazat-e-Islam.
