Ministry of Religion requests to offer Eid Jamaat at Mosque

Ministry of Religion has urged the countrymen to offer the prayers of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr in the mosque nearby the house instead of Eidgah or open space following health guidelines due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

An order issued from the Ministry of Religion on Monday said that Islamic Sharia has encouraged performing Eid-ul-Fitr prayers in Eidgah or open space. But due to the current situation of coronavirus infection in the country, the countrymen were requested to offer Eid prayers in the nearby mosque, considering the risk to the lives of the worshipers.

If necessary, more than one congregation can be organized in the same mosque.

The order of the Ministry of Religion states:

• Carpets cannot be laid in the mosque during Eid prayers.

• The entire mosque should be cleaned with disinfectant before the prayers.

• Devotees will be able to bring Jainamaz on their own responsibility.

• In addition, soap or hand sanitizer should be kept in the washing place of the mosque. Soap-water with hand sanitizer/hand washing system should be kept at the entrance of the mosque.

• Everyone should come to the mosque after performing Wadu from their home.

• Worshipers must come to the mosque wearing mask.

• Jainamaz and hats reserved in the mosque cannot be used.

• In case of standing in line during Eid prayers, one must follow social distance and health rules.

• Children, the elderly, any sick person and the person engaged in the service of the sick can not participate in the congregation of Eid prayers.

• Hugging and shaking hands must be avoided at the end of the congregation.
