Public transport closed till May 5

Nur Mohammad Majumder, chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), said public transport would remain closed till May 5 as no new decision was taken yet in this regard.

Earlier, it was hinted that public transport would be operated from April 29.

On Wednesday, cabinet department issued a notification extending the ongoing 'all-out lockdown' till May 5.

The notification said that the restrictions imposed earlier were extended till midnight on May 5 considering the coronavirus infection situation.

However, shops and shopping malls can be kept open from 10 am to 8 pm, it read.
