Order on Rozina's bail plea Sunday

A Dhaka court set Sunday to pass order on the bail petition sought by Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam in a case filed by the health ministry under the Official Secrets Act on charges of stealing state secrets.

The hearing on bail application began at noon on Thursday at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court and ended at around 2pm, Rozina's lawyer Prashanto Kumar Karmakar told The Daily Samakal.

Lawyers had been waiting in court since morning for Rozina's bail hearing while the media workers were also seen crowding on the court premises.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim rejected Rozina's remand application and fixed May 20 for a bail hearing.
