Hefazat leader Junaid-al-Qasemi arrested

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested Hefazat leader Junaid-al-Qasemi from Brahmanbaria on Saturday.

According to CID sources, Qasemi is the son of the secretary general of the recently dissolved committee of the religious group Hefazat.

CID senior ASP Jisanul Haque said the arrestee, Junaid, was recently involved in sabotage in Brahmanbaria. Whether there is any case of sabotage against him is being investigated, he added.
