Former Hefazat publicity secretary Zakaria Noman arrested

A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested Zakaria Noman Fayezi, publicity secretary of the defunct Hefazat-e-Islam's Central Committee, from Chakaria in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday afternoon.

Chittagong Superintendent of Police M Rashidul Haque confirmed Zakaria's arrest.

Earlier, the Chittagong District Special Branch of the DB Police conducted the raid on the basis of secret information to arrest the Hefazat leader, he said.

Several sabotage cases were filed against him with Hathazari Model Police Station in connection with the March 26 mayhem.
