RU VC leaves campus with police escort

Professor M Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU), has left the Vice-Chancellor's building around 2:30 pm on Wednesday under tight police guard.

The VC has moved to his home in the University Housing Society (Bihas) near Rajshahi University. 

While leaving the campus, there were three police cars in front and behind his car.

“I have an appointment till 12 tonight,” he said, adding, “I left the government house before the timeline. I didn’t want a police guard; rather they [the university authorities] provided it.”

Claiming to be successful after hundreds of criticism, he said, “I think I have been able to fulfill my responsibilities successfully. This chair meaning the post of VC is very challenging. We have to work with that challenge.”

On May 7, 2017, Professor M Abdus Sobhan was appointed as the Vice Chancellor for the second term. Today was his last working day. On the last day, he has appointed some125 people in different positions as ad-hoc basis.
