Hasibur Rashid made VC of Begum Rokeya University

Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University.

The new appointment came as the tenure of Prof. Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah has expired as VC in the university.

Md Hasibur Rashid, a Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems, Dhaka University, is now carrying out his duty as treasurer of Begum Rokeya University.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education has issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

President and Chancellor Abdul Hamid appointed him for a term of four years which will be effective from June 14.

It also said, “As the chief executive of the university, he will be on campus all the time.”

Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, a professor in the Department of Public Administration, Dhaka University, was appointed as Vice Chancellor of Rokeya University on June 1, 2017.

The teachers of the university had been protesting against him for various irregularities including not being on campus most of the time.
