Army to be deployed during lockdown: Cabinet secretary

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam said from July 1 nobody will be allowed to come out from home without urgent need.

The army will be deployed to implement the directive, he told a press briefing after a cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Monday.

Anwarul said the ban would be imposed across the country from 6am on July 1 to 12pm on July 6.

There will be no movement pass at this time.

Public transport, shopping malls and markets have already been closed from Monday to July 1.
