Record 258 Covid-19 deaths, 14,925 new cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh has recorded 258 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths and 14,925 positive cases in the past 24 hours, the highest number in a single day, said Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its routine daily statement  on Tuesday.

The official tally showed the virus killed 19,779 people and infected 11,94,752 so far, it added.  

The current positivity rate is 28.44 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.81 percent.

A total of 52,478 samples were tested across the country during the period.

At least 12,439 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
